When you feel the anger rising — jaw tight, voice sharp, fists clenched — try this instead of pushing it down or letting it explode.

  • Put your hands on something cold
    A freezer handle. A glass of ice water. A bathroom tile.
    Let the shock interrupt the spiral.
  • Say out loud (or in your head):
    “This is my body asking for help. I’m not a bad mom. I’m dysregulated.”
  • Breathe in through your nose for 4…
    Hold for 4…
    Exhale slowly for 6.

    Repeat three times. Slower if you can.
  • Move your body gently.
    Shake your hands. Sway side to side. Let the energy go somewhere safe.
